What to expect from rules to lift by
It’s still early.
Well, technically speaking, its 1:00 P.M. On a Saturday.
But in the grand scheme of things, it’s still pretty fcking early.
All I am trying to accomplish with this blog post is outlining what you can expect from Rules to Lift By across all platforms. I’m not big on grand reveals or overyhyped launches, so I understand that there may be some confusion in terms of what this brand is all about, and where you can find it.
This post, like much of the content that I’m making, is meant to be just as helpful for me as it is for you, providing direction, and keeping us all focused and on track.
First off, if you’re new here, Hi. I’m Scott. No, Rules to Lift By is not my real name.
I’m a strength coach and radio host, I also DJ occasionally.
I’m not a spammy supplement pusher, I won’t be offering discount codes, I have no back-end revenue coming from any product or brand that I recommend or use on any of my social media platforms. I believe in full integrity and honesty when it comes to making content. Which is a concept that seems a little too foreign in 2020. If that ever changes, it will be for good reason, and you will be the first to know.
Hobbies, outside of the obvious, exercise and music, include reading, playing and watching sports (hockey, golf, football, baseball, spikeball, most anything else), board games with friends, cooking, photography, and above all, having a good fcking time.
“So if you’re not generating any back-end revenue, trying to get sponsored or pushing discount codes, why the hell are you doing this?”
I want to lay out my intentions for Rules to Lift By, again, as much for you, as for myself.
My (temporary) motto for this brand is ‘Fitness - Food - Fun’. And those are the things I will base 100% of my content around.
As of the time of this post I have active accounts on Instagram, YouTube, and of course, this blog/website.
I plan to post once per day on Instagram. Follow along if you wish.
Instagram posts will primarily cover the ‘Fitness and Food’ aspects of our motto. Sharing new Rules, as they are made, posting any transformation pictures, physique updates, and of course, endless good eats and food suggestions for nailing your macros AND satiating your taste buds.
I plan to post one - three times per month on YouTube. Follow along if you wish.
YouTube posts will be shifted a tad more towards the ‘Fun’ end of the spectrum. Now, that being said, it will still be fitness based, and my first video was a full day of eating, so there will be a fair share off food posts as well. But I will be allowing a little more leniency into my personal life, showing MY fitness goals and progress, and sharing with you a little peak into my hobbies and habits that are strictly aimed at not being strict. YouTube posts will also consist of form-based exercise videos for coaching clients, to ensure movements are being performed properly and safely. Finally, with YouTube, I plan to keep my videos short and on track. I want them to be simple, enjoyable, easy to consume, and give you the ability to watch them in any setting. Balancing informative tips and fun lifestyle based vibes, with a sprinkle of cinematography. Go easy, I’m still learning.
I plan to post once per week on this blog. Follow along if you wish.
Now that being said, the website as a whole is constantly being updated, new Instagram posts, new updated rules, and new YouTube videos will be available through the different headings and tabs, but if you’re here for more long-form content (written word) then once a week is what you can expect. Blog posts will give you primary access to my thoughts and insights into the world of fitness and nutrition. Post topics will include everything from science based articles and findings, to supplement recommendations to tips/tricks that I’ve learned over an extended lifting career. I also plan to sprinkle in topics, articles and studies related to all of my amusements around the world of fitness. What makes a great gym? What’s on my gym playlist, and why? Why do I recommend eating out every so often? Once per week, you can find out.
Now, if you’re still here, thank you, thank you for taking time out of your day to read, and I appreciate you choosing to follow along with any of the above platforms and am always open to feedback, be it critical or complimentary. I’m easy to get ahold of and plan on checking DM’s and Emails as frequently as possible to answer any or all questions you may have, regarding workouts, nutrition, calorie counting, music, sports, or whether or not hallucinogenic drugs have shaped modern religion. Fire away.
Concluding this impossibly long blog post, I should throw in a caveat that any of the above mentioned posting schedules are subject to change based on demand, success, and most importantly, how much fun I’m having with each of them.
And they probably will change.
Like I said,
It’s still pretty fcking early.
